Wi Wo Ca Girl Scout Camp to Celebrate 57th
Wi Wo Ca Girl Scout Camp will be celebrating its fifty-seventh anniversary in June, 2009. The camp property, located in Yucaipa, was donated to the Redlands Girl Scout Council in 1952 by the Hunt family. The camp name originated from the first two letters of each of the words "Wild Wood Canyon", where the camp is situated among California Live Oak trees and native shrubs. Trails lead from the main lodge to eleven campsites complete with tables and fire rings. Each year in June the Redlands area Girl Scouts (Redlands Service Area) conduct a week long day camp staffed entirely by local volunteers with 200 girls in attendance.
